Bantham Estate Rose, South Hams, Devon 2025

The Wine.

A lovely light, zesty rose (11% abv) with juicy strawberry and raspberry fruit character as a result of the hot summer in the UK last year. Made from Pinot Noir, Pinot Noir Precoce, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Gris, it is beautifully balanced and will make for an excellent aperitif this summer and next. A delicious representation of the maritime terroir in this rural corner of south Devon.

The Estate.

The Bantham vineyard was planted in 2021 with an eye to producing top quality English still and sparkling wines that reflect the maritime terroir of this part of the South Hams coast. 

The conditions here are excellent, with south facing slopes getting plenty of sun and a cooling sea breeze that keeps the vines in good health. The harvest is done by hand and the estate manage the vineyard with a keen eye on sustainablity and regenerative viticulture.
